What educational toys are available for sight impaired children?
I am the friend of a mother with twin girls. They were born prematurely, weighed a pound and had to stay in an incubator for some time. The mother said that the light affected their sight. One had surgery and is walking unassisted. The other can walk on her own but has to take her time. Some people sy she listens for sounds to find her direction. Christmas is coming and I want to give something different from a stuffed toy. In february they will be three years and ready for preschool. There is no preschool for the visually impaired in my locale;and the mother cannot move now to an area with one as there is a long waiting list. Are there any suggestions for suitable educational toys. I know they like music because they can sing and they ' fight' when they are placed at my keyboard. There is a sister who is three years in the home so buying a keyboard will cause more disagreement.I doubt I can afford two unless they are reasonably priced. Are there other suggestions? Please help.
